What Is Intuitive Eating Coaching?
Do you restrict yourself from eating certain foods because you believe they are bad for you?
Intuitive Eating is based on three main concepts. one of which is unconditional permission to eat. When we restrict, there are both mental and physiological processes working against us and through unconditional permission to eat with Intuitive Eating, you work WITH your body’s natural processes instead of against them.
Have you ever said, "I'm such an emotional eater"?
The second of three main concepts in Intuitive Eating centers around this idea of emotional eating. Intuitive Eating helps you to work through your emotions, understanding what’s at the core, and helps you create a different plan of action, one that doesn’t involve food.
Do you ever find yourself crazy hungry and wanting to eat everything in sight?
The final concept at the core of Intuitive Eating is the idea of honoring your hunger, satiety, and satisfaction. We know that when you diet and restrict, you are using external signals to determine when, what, and how much to eat. Intuitive Eating knocks this approach on its kiester and instead teaches you to listen to your body. Internal signals rule in an Intuitive Eating world.
My name is Tammi and I’m a mom of four (mostly adult) humans, 1 cuddly pit bull named Maggie, and 8 chickens (7 layer hens and 1 comical rooster named Lieutenant Dan). I’ve been a Dietitian for 24 years. I love the field of nutrition, and am passionate about intuitive eating and healing food and body relationships. Coaching you brings me joy and I can seriously say more than once I’ve had goosebumps when a client has an “aha moment” with me during a session.
